A winner’s form must be filled out before cash prizes are awarded
OFFICIAL TOURNAMENT RULES & REGULATIONS:
CONTESTANT SUBSTITUTIONS MUST BE APPROVED BY A FISHING COMMITTEE MEMBER BEFORE 12:00 PM BY JULY 7, 2023. NO SUBSTITUTIONS WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE DAY OF THE TOURNAMENT. ONLY THOSE ON THE LIST WILL RECEIVE A WRISTBAND AND BE ALLOWED ADMITTANCE.
The following are the official rules and regulations for the 18 th Annual Ferguson Fishing Tournament. It is the contestant’s responsibility to read, understand and comply with all the rules outlined below. Non-compliance will be grounds for disqualification from the tournament and future barring from activities. By entering this tournament, each contestant agrees to abide by these rules and regulations and agree that all decisions by the tournament directors are final.
1. Contestants must register for the tournament before fishing begins. Check in time will begin Friday, July 28, 2023, at 3pm. There will be a Captain’s Party Friday, July 28, 2023, at Ferguson 221 Junior Beck Location. Contestants will be given a registration bag that includes the wristband to be worn by each participant. Wristbands must be worn to enter fish to be judged, for food, drinks and for prize drawings. No registrations will be allowed the day of the tournament. NO REFUNDS ALLOWED. Participants must be associated with, or a Ferguson customer (Noted on the entry form)
2. Legal fishing hours are Saturday, July 29, 2023, from 5:00 a.m. till 1:30 p.m. Fish must be caught on a rod and reel with live, dead or artificial bait.
3. Contestants must have a valid Texas Saltwater Fishing License and be in compliance with all Texas Parks and Wildlife Department regulations as well as all Local and Federal laws.
4. Fish must be legal size according to Texas Parks and Wildlife Department regulations. Redfish (20-28"), Flounder (15"-No Max), Trout (17-23"). Tagged or oversized fish will NOT be allowed in ANY category including Heaviest Other. If fish is disqualified for any reason it cannot be replaced with another fish.
5. Contestants must be in line for weigh-in by 1:30 p.m. on July 29 2023, at Marker 37. Any contestants that are NOT in line BY 1:30 p.m. will be disqualified. Weigh in will be from 11:30am-1:30pm.
6. Winning fish will be determined by highest weight. In case of a tie, the winner is decided by length.
7. Contestants will only be allowed one cash prize. Contestants must wear a wristband and present to win door prizes. A form must be filled out to claim cash prizes.
8. Weighmaster will be used to weigh-in fish. If, in their opinion, the fish was caught outside the tournament time frame or tampered with to alter their weight or length, the contestant will be disqualified.
9. Only bring fish to the scale that will be entered into the tournament. Weighmaster will not weigh multiple fish to determine which is larger or help select fish for you to enter.
