Rules & Regulations

Tournament Format
- Tournament teams will consist of 1 to 4 anglers, only one team per boat. All team members must be on the same boat (no splitting of teams on other boats).
- Wade fishing will be allowed. If wade fishing, team mates must remain within eyesight of each other and boat at all times.
- Team Captain will be a FPC badged employee, vendor or contractor.
- Team members may consist of FPC badged employee, FPC badged immediate family, FPC contractors and FPC vendors (FPC Immediate family- Wife, Husband, Daughter, Son, Brother, Sister, Mother, Father, Grandparent, Grandkids or Date).
- Guided boats will be allowed, however the guide will not be allowed to fish unless the guide is a FPC badged employee.
- Team’s captains are encouraged to gather members from within their unit.
- Individual units, vendors and contractors may have as many teams as they wish.
- Tournament will be a one day format.
- Awards and dinner will follow after weigh-in.
- Weigh-in will be in Port Lavaca, at the Bauer Community Center.
- Tournament will be capped a 100 teams. Registration is 1st come 1st served.
- Team entry form must be received by July 15, 2023 in order to guarantee T-shirt sizes are correct. (Team members will receive one tee shirt per angler.)
- Team entry fee of $400.00 must be received by August 14, 2023.
Tournament Rules
- Tournament Director’s rulings are final.
- Each team will only be allowed to weigh in three fish: one Trout 17” to 23", one Red 20” to 28” and one Flounder 15” minimum. No oversized trout or tagged reds will be allowed.
- All fish must be caught on rod and reel. Only one pole in the water at a time per angler.
- No sharing or pooling of fish with other teams and/or boats is allowed.
- No pale, gilled or mutilated fish will be weighed. A trimmed tail is a mutilated fish and will be disqualified. All fish must be in a fresh, unfrozen condition and caught within tournament hours.
- Teams will only bring three fish to weigh-in. If a fish is disqualified, it cannot be replaced with another fish. So make sure to take a good look at your fish prior to bringing it to the scales.
- All fish will be measured belly to belly with the use of a slant/angle board with a perfect pincher.
- Artificial lures, live or dead bait will be acceptable.
- Combination stringer will consist of 1 Trout, 1 Red & 1 Flounder. In the absence of all three species, the heaviest stringer of two of the species will win. The combination category will award trophies for the top three places 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
- Side pots will award trophies for 1st place only in each category, Trout, Red & Flounder
- Side pots will be $100 per boat, per category. All side pots will be 100% payback and pay out three places (50/30/20) in each category Trout, Red & Flounder.
- The Master anglers (Combination Stringer) side pot will also pay out 100% and pay out three places (50/30/20).
- **NEW FOR 2023** Pinche Panzón! Biggest fish of the tournament! Any fish species, following all Texas Parks and Wildlife Rules and Regulations, can be used for this category. The category will be won by the angler who weighs in the heaviest fish. Limit one fish at the scales per team. Examples include, but are not limited to: shark, stingray, gar… (No tagged redfish or black drum over 30" will be allowed)
- Boundaries: None – Anglers may launch and fish anywhere they wish.
- Tournament start time: Start 06:30
- Weigh in: 14:00 to 16:00 - must be checked in by 16:00. If not checked in by 16:00, your team will not be allowed to weigh-in. (Note: it is your responsibility once you get to the weigh-in to get in contact with the tournament official that is in charge of check in).
- Teams must fish in public waters accessible to all fishermen.
- All State and Federal Parks and Wildlife regulations must be followed at all times.
- No scales or means of measuring will be available from weighmaster or tournament members prior to official weigh in. You must choose which fish you are entering into the tournament prior to weighing in. The fish you present to the weighmaster is the fish you enter!
- You must have a valid Saltwater Fishing License from TPWD to fish in this tournament. Kids 17 and under do not need a license but must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
